Weird Networking at the Goodwill West Louisville Opportunity Center

(8:30am doors, 9am-10am networking, at 10am an optional brief tour of this incredible building will be offered)

You’ve attended a networking before, but have you ever attended Weird Networking?! Join us for a speed networking event - LIBA style! Mix and mingle with a variety of LIBA business members in a 'speed dating' style event that includes fun, and of course, weird networking questions. A moderator who will help guide us as we take turns learning about each other.

LIBA will be providing coffee and light breakfast items from Blak Koffee. Goodwill will also do a short talk and tour of the West Louisville Opportunity Center for anyone interested.

How Weird Networking Will Work:

You will be seated opposite someone at a table.
Each pair will have 4 minutes (2 minutes for each person to talk). (We will try to rotate so you can meet everyone, but that depends on how many people attend. There will be time to mingle after.)
After the bell, ONE side of the table will move chairs.

To prepare for this event (and all networking opportunities), we suggest you:

Bring business cards (at least 50) and brochures if appropriate.
Think about what you’re an expert in.
Think about what you need help with.
Use your time wisely.
Be clear about who you are, what you do and how you could use help.
Be curious about the other person.

Use WEIRD Questions if you get stuck. Here are some suggestions:

Weirdest place you have made a business connection.
Weirdest interview question either you have asked and been asked.
Weirdest marketing tip.
Weirdest business idea or strategy.
Weirdest experience related to your work.

On Thursday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m., join us for a rare look inside their original Bardstown Road facility, where tradition meets modern sustainability. You’ll see how they still use specialized pressing machines from the 1940s alongside cutting-edge, eco-friendly wet cleaning technology.

You’ll hear about their decades of community commitment—from cleaning thousands of scarves for cancer survivors to pioneering green business practices in the heart of the Highlands. It’s an opportunity to see the precision and care that goes into every garment before it hits the rack.

Booth registration is for LIBA Business Members only.

DATE & TIME: Sunday, May 31st from 12n - 6pm

LOCATION: Lynn Family Stadium Fan Zone

FEES & AUCTION: We keep booth fees as low as possible ($50 for a regular vendor, $70 after May 8), so we ask everyone participating (who is not a sponsor or food vendor) to donate an item worth $40 or above for our silent auction.

We collect a $50 refundable deposit in addition to the vendor fee. You can turn your auction donation in at the Fair and we will return your deposit once your auction donation is received and your booth at the Fair is completed.

DEADLINE: Registration closes after Wednesday, May 20. (We will have waitlist registration available after that.)

PARKING: Parking is free for vendors this year in the Purple Lot near the entrance. No parking passes will be needed to park, but all vendors must be parked by 11:30am.

FOOD TRUCK, SNACK/DESSERT TRUCK OR REGULAR VENDOR?

Regular Vendors: Booth fee is $50 plus a $50 deposit (deposit will be returned once your auction donation has been turned in).

Regular Vendors may sell sample sizes of food and drink, up to 2 ounces each. (Pricing is up to vendor.) May also sell any size food or drink that is packaged to be consumed at home. Must have proper health department permits.

Food Trucks/Vendors: Registration fee is $250. This is for vendors selling full meals. Please email Jen to register.
Snack/Dessert Trucks/Vendors: Registration fee is $150. This is for vendors selling snacks, coffee, treats, etc. Please email Jen to register.

CANCELLATIONS: You are welcome to cancel with notice. We work hard to publish an accurate map of booths and ensure our rows of booths are continuous. If you need to cancel your participation, please let us know by May 20 if possible.
