Support independent restaurants
in West Louisville!

This series of events provides an easy way for all Louisvillians to support West Louisville entrepreneurs and get acquainted with what the area has to offer. By supporting independent businesses in West Louisville neighborhoods, more money stays circulating in the community, and that helps keep all of Louisville weird! Our next 2 dates include:

Lucretia's Kitchen, 1812 Muhammad Ali Blvd. (Chef Space)
Wednesday, May 29th, 12 pm -  2 pm

(RSVP now for this event!)

One might say Lucretia Thompson was destined for barbecue. Granddaughter of the founder of the longtime Louisville restaurant, Thompson’s BBQ, the roots run deep and the history is rich for this third generation barbecue business. Lucretia is proud of her product’s authenticity and doesn’t take shortcuts in the kitchen. This event’s menu will include LK’s Famous Fried Chicken, BBQ, Peach Cobbler and much more. ($15)

Mattie’s Kitchen, 1508 West Kentucky Street
Wednesday, June 19th, 12 pm -  2 pm

Mattie’s Kitchen was inspired by owner Vickie Smith’s vision. She had a dream one day that consisted of her opening her own soul food restaurant.  The dream also had a window that that matches the building that she is in now! Vickie uses recipes handed down from her grandmother Mattie Calbert which is the inspiration for the restaurant name.  The dream Vickie had was over 20 years ago.  Her vision from God and the work of prayer have resulted in a real restaurant in a perfect location: The St. Stephen Family Life Center with the support and vision of Dr. Kevin Cosby and the St. Stephen Family. This is where Mattie’s Kitchen and her son, O’Neal Smith’s New York City based business "Love Soul Grill" could have its largest impact in the  west end community. By teaming up with St Stephen Church and Simmons College of Kentucky, Mattie’s Kitchen is a vessel for showing the vision of sustainable economic business growth in the community.
