As local independent businesses, we are stakeholders in our community. We also have a special position in that many of us have contact with dozens, hundreds or even thousands of our neighbors - and can reach people in unique ways to bring awareness.
For the third year in a row, Kentucky ranks #1 in the nation with the highest rate of child abuse and neglect. The pandemic has also almost certainly had an effect that still remains to be measured. Keeping kids safe is up to all of us, and local businesses of all kinds can play an important role in helping families.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and LIBA is partnering with Kosair Charities' Face It Movement to bring awareness to this important issue. We are kicking off Child Abuse Prevention Month with an educational event and launch of a campaign that LIBA members can participate in.
We invite you to join Kentucky's movement to end child abuse. Learn more about what you can do to help kids and their caregivers! At our launch event, we will discuss the landscape of child abuse and neglect in Kentucky and Jefferson County, economic impact of this maltreatment, how you can support families, and free child abuse prevention resources for your businesses. The following brochures will be available for LIBA members to pick up from any Rainbow Blossom location (at the Service Desk) through out the month of April.
Register Here and Join Us for this Important Event!
Interested in participating in the campaign? Whether you can attend the launch event or not, we'd like to hear more about how you might participate. Please take this survey by March 30th.
