Expo Kick Off Lunch
Hear from our board candidates and featured speaker. Then, make an afternoon of it and plan to attend our Louisville Local Business Expo.
We are honored to have Dr. Kim Schatzel, UofL President as our featured speaker. This lunch not only kicks off the Expo, it also serves as our annual meeting. Each member present at the event will be able to cast one paper ballot (one ballot per membership). Make sure to RSVP for lunch ($15 each or bring your own). Box Lunches available from ELM Catering - Lou. Choices include: Black Forest Ham Sandwich, Roasted Turkey Sandwich, Chicken Salad Sandwich or a Vegetarian Wrap (all lunches include: chips, pickle & cookie).

FEATURED SPEAKER:
Kim Schatzel, PhD, President, University of Louisville
Dr. Kim Schatzel became the 19th President of the University of Louisville on Feb. 1, 2023.
Dr. Schatzel came to UofL from Towson University, Maryland’s second-largest university, where she served as president for seven years. There, she generated support for more than $1 billion in capital investments, led TU to an impressive 72% six-year graduation and established an Office of Inclusion and Institutional Equity, the first in the state. She has received many local and national accolades for her leadership in inclusive excellence, including the prestigious Whitney M. Young Jr. Award from the Board of Directors of the Urban League affiliates across the nation.
Previously, she served as interim president, provost and executive vice president of academic and student affairs at Eastern Michigan University and as dean of the University of MichiganDearborn College of Business.
One of only 2% of university presidents nationwide with extensive corporate and entrepreneurial C-suite experience, Dr. Schatzel spent more than 20 years in the private sector, co-founding a multinational advanced manufacturing firm and serving as its president, chief operating officer and chief executive officer.
President Schatzel holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
She currently serves on the boards of the Atlantic Coast Conference and Greater Louisville Inc., several university-affiliated boards, and Impetus for a Better Louisville. She also is a member of the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration and the Presidents’ Trust of the American Association of Colleges and Universities.
